REU Visit to the Maglab (2023)
Physics NSF REU students visiting the National High Magnetic Field laboratory in Florida.

Visit from Rockdale Magnet High School (2023)
High School physics teacher Mike Sommer participated in research in our laboratory for three summers (2020, 2021, 2022) and took his AP physics class to Georgia Tech campus to see our superconducting magnet (and more!)

Superconducivity demonstration at Rivers Eve Elementary (2022, 2023)
Graduate student Olivia Vilella demonstrating the Meissner effect to magnets-expert second graders!

Annual Physics REU visit to ORNL (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022)
Every June since 2016, I led a group of ten physics undergraduates doing research in Georgia Tech's School of Physics to visit Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Tennessee. The ten students who visited ORNL were taking part in the National Science Foundation’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program, just established in 2016 in our School. The groups are seen here in front of the High Flux Isotope Reactor, one of ORNL's two neutron sources. More information can be found [here].

Of the Attraction of the Sun
In June 2013, I participated in the closing of the show Of the Attraction of the Sun by artist Rodolphe Delaunay at the Current Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland. The event, supported by the Institute of Contemporary Art Baltimore, confronted scientific and artistic reactions to Delaunay's radical and minimalistic art and highlighted similarities between experimental physics and Delaunay's unique creative approach. A video of the show can be found [here].
